Real who won earlier in the day courtesy of a Cristiano Ronaldo 23rd minute strike held their place on top the log with 3 points ahead of Atletico who fought hard for the victory
Diego Simeone side took the lead from a cool finish from Diego Costa which took the home fans to their feet.
